Activity planning session for the second phase of the DESPRO Project took place

The first phase of the Decentralization Support in Ukraine DESPRO Project (2007-2009) proceeds to its completion with the year 2009 coming to an end. The next phase of the project will unfold in 2010.
DESPRO project staff outlined strategic objectives, main principles and activity areas for the next phase of the DESPRO project during the planning session held in c.Bucha on December 24, 2009.

The project plans to continue its activities in support of decentralized model of public services provision to the population, as well as cooperation with communities and authorities at different levels. DESPRO defined comprehensive support for the territorial-administrative reform in Ukraine as particularly important activity component.
Further DESPRO activities involve geographical expansion of the project, increasing the number of local projects and the areas of decentralized services provision to the population – since 2010 the project will work in the Sumy region in addition to the Vinnytsia region and AR Crimea.
The system of accumulation and further dissemination in the country of the good practices and experience gained by the partners at different levels in the process of implementation of the local development projects will become one of DESPRO activity priorities.
Thus, coming years of DESPRO activity promise to be saturated with interesting and important for the society work!
