The training workshop "Topical issues of licensing and permitting activities in the area of centralized water supply" was held in Vinnytsya on 18 February.

This training event was organized by the Swiss-Ukrainian “Decentralisation Support Project in Ukraine (DESPRO)” in order to raise awareness and professional skills of rural water supply operators. In fact, while preparing and going through the procedure for obtaining licenses and necessary permits (special use of water, subsoil use), rural operators, who lack experience and sometimes special knowledge, face read difficulties.

During the workshop, the participants - rural water supply operators and heads of villages - thoroughly studied the issue of obtaining permission documentation (permits) for operating in the area of water supply in rural communities - namely, the requirements and procedures of issuing permits for special water use, as well as the licence conditions.

The workshop was conducted by Anatoliy Ischenko, Head of Permits Section at the State Department of Environmental Protection in Vinnytsya oblast, and Mariya Stets, Head of Licensing Department at the Central Administration for Housing Maintenance and Utilities, Energy and Communications in Vinnytsya oblast.
