Decentralization is an Element of Economic Growth of Ukrainian Regions

16 through 18 September 2001 Community general meeting of Association of Regional Development Agencies of Ukraine took place in Alushta (Ukraine). Within its framework, a workshop “Decentralization as an Aspect of Regional Development in Ukraine” was conducted.

The first session was devoted to the issues of administrative reforming of national and local levels. Anatoliy Tkachuk described the main dimensions of state regional development management.
 
Vyacheslav Kozak, DESPRO specialist, introduced the grounds of Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine”.
 
Representatives of AR Crimea demonstrated the practical aspects of Project implementation and operation.
 
General meeting’s participants exchanged the best practices on territorial communities’ development.
