Improving Skills Due to Knowledge Management

On 2 to 3 February workshop on Knowledge Management took place in Sevastopol. It was organized in cooperation with Sevastopol Training Centre for public servants. Representatives of DESPRO partners in Crimea and other stakeholders participated in it.
 
Participants considered the issues related to emerging and developing the knowledge management within a public sector, the very essence of “knowledge” category and “knowledge management” term, knowledge management on a way of developing and implementing regional development strategies, communities of practice benefits and possibilities of local governments in Ukraine as for incorporating knowledge management processes in their activities. 
 
A few case studies were practiced, i.e.: evaluation of authorities’ readiness to implement knowledge management system; transformation of individual knowledge into organizational ones (forming the organizational memory), etc.
 
Before the event and due to DESPRO eLearning platform, workshop participants and their colleagues from other regions of Ukraine discussed the development priorities and the most perspective fields of Crimea.
 
In particular, it was proposed to create a cluster of energy saving and solar energy for community needs, water heating in kindergartens and hospitals. 
 
These are the issues, which were considered during the session “Knowledge management and collaboration with stakeholders while working out policy for development”. “Community”, “power”, “business” and “science” stood for their points of view, presented partnership models and possibilities for local development strategies.
