DESPRO Launched the Unique Project on Training About 500 Representatives of Local Self-Governing Bodies From All Over Ukraine: Training Course “Managing the Projects on Local and Regional Development”

Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO) in cooperation with State Fund for Local Self-Government launched a unique experiment, i.e. distant training for about 500 representatives of local self-government bodies who prepare projects for All-Ukrainian competition for projects and programs on local self-government – 2012.
Distant training is aimed at obtaining by its participants the new skills and competencies on project management for solving the community’s challenges and creating the community of practice “Innovations in local self-government”. The participant will have an opportunity to systemize the knowledge on developing the projects within the frame of All-Ukrainian competition for projects and programs on local self-government get acquainted with best practices and typical errors related to project design and implementation as well as get acquainted with different project management tools. 
This distant training is also aimed at initiating the regular communication between local self-governing bodies from different regions of Ukraine due to Interregional informational and educational network “Effective State” and for ensuring the consistency of processes related to creation, analyses, maintenance, storing and distribution of information resources and knowledge in the sphere of local self-government.
Professors from National Academy of Public Administration will deal with training process during the distant training course, which will run from 18 April to 6 June. Besides, the trainees will have an opportunity to have expert consultations on local and regional development, legal issues and current legislation.
