Distant training on “Projects’ on local and regional development management”, which was implemented by State Fund for Local Self-Government in cooperation with Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO) and National Academy for Public Administration, is completed.

904 trainees had a unique opportunity to improve their knowledge in the sphere of project management as well as to get answers to issues on projects and programs development and design. During the session they used on-line e-platform “Community of Practice” Innovations in Local Self-Government”.

Within first weeks the trainees got acquainted with following issues:
•    Local self-government reforms and priorities
•    Community’s challenges: How to reveal them? Who is to solve them?
•    Methodology of social and economic analyses as for problematic aspects the project is oriented on (SWOT, GAP, etc.)
•    Correspondents of goals and objectives of the projects under development to local strategy of administrative and territorial unit
•    Stakeholders: different points of view on the same challenge
•    Criteria of project innovation
•    Systematic proposed transformations
•    Provision of legal frame for proposed transformations

Within two months, scientists, the practitioners, professors of regional institutes of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, State Fund personnel and DESPRO experts shared experience in the sphere of innovations related to local self-governance, estimation of projects’ progress and monitoring.

According to distant e-learning results, the trainees will obtain the Certificates. Besides, manual based on materials been used during the very training and consultations will be published. 

Training’s completion does not mean the completion of its participants’ communication. Community of Practice “Innovations in Local Self-Governance” will continue its operation due to Interregional information and training network “Effective State” for the aim of discussion and solution of challenges related to local self-governance.
