Newly constructed water supply networks were commissioned on 5^th July in Saltykov and Krasne villages, Konotops’ky rayon and on 6^th July in Borozenka and Glyns’k villages, Romensky rayon.

“Today’s event shows that within the framework of President’s Program “Ukraine for People”, Strategy “New Sumy Oblast - 2015” and due to support of Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine”, power and community jointly and successfully work for the better of Oblast inhabitants”, stressed Oleksandr Tsupro, deputy head of Oblast State Administration and head of OSA apparatus. 

“Construction of water supply systems in Romensky rayon is a brilliant demonstration of the fact that communities managed to come together, to develop the project, to create service cooperative and with the support of Oblast and rayon power and Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization Support in Ukraine”, to implement their own initiatives”, said Vyacheslav Kozak, DESPRO expert. 

To construct water tower and water pipe line 9 km length in Saltykove village, local community contributed UAH 324,2 thousand, DESPRO – UAH 240 thousand and rayon budget – UAH 160 thousand. 154 households (477 inhabitants) and Saltykivs’ky educational complex “Secondary school (I-III stages) and kindergarten” were connected to the network.

To construct water pipe line 7,5 km length in Krasne, Vyshneve and Lebedyeve villages local community contributed UAH 335 thousand, DESPRO – UAH 240 thousand and rayon budget – UAH 160 thousand.

To construct water pipe line 4,9 km length in Borozenky village, local community contributed UAH 250 thousand, DESPRO – UAH 240 thousand and rayon budget – UAH 157 thousand. 122 households (100% of village inhabitants) were connected to the network.

To construct water pipe in Glyns’k village, local community contributed more than UAH 529,3 thousand, rayon budget – UAH 250 thousand and DESPRO – UAH 240 thousand.

Currently, drinking water is centrally provided to 112 households (330 inhabitants) of Borozenka and to 218 households (916 inhabitants) of Glyns’k village.

Borozenkivs’ky medical post, Glyns’ks secondary school (I – III stages), Glyns’ka village ambulance and 2 multistory buildings of Glyns’k village are connected to the network. 

According to Vyacheslav Kozak words, Glyns’k water pipe became a triple DESPRO record as for rayon budget contribution, network length and the largest contribution from one household, which amounts for UAH 6 thousand, while in other DESPRO partner communities it was UAH 3 thousand.
