DESPRO Presents a Series of Books “Decentralization and Self-Governance”

Olena Lokshyna, DESPRO expert, presented the first modules of a series of books “Decentralization and Self-Governance”, which would become a resource for professional growth of public servants and local governance officials.
Presentation took place on 1st November in Foros (AR Crimea) within the framework of a workshop “Community of Practice: Innovations in Local Self-Governance”, which was organized with the support of Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization support in Ukraine” (DESPRO) and All-Ukrainian Foundation for local governance development in Ukraine. 
The purpose of the series “Decentralization and Governance” is to offer universal knowledge oriented portfolio to be used in the system of training, retraining and upgrading of specialists, working in the sphere of “Public Administration”, as well as their self-education and practice and training the trainers.
“Series materials are not the books to the shelf. They are the tools for teaching and learning effective governance. Under conditions of relevant teachers and trainers training, training facilities that provide training, retraining and post-training for civil servants and local officials, could transform series training modules and apply them during trainings, workshops, round tables, in case studies, business games, internships, lectures, projects and formalized documents on governance”, - said DESPRO expert.
 According to Olena Lokshyna words, DESPRO plans to further expand the series of modules “Decentralization an Governance” as well as to produce their e-version, to place them on projects’ and partners website and to transform them into distant eLearning.
