40 mass media representatives visited Cherepashyntsi village during the Press Tour in Vinnytsya Oblast, organized by Swiss Cooperation Office in Ukraine

On 22nd November 2012 Press Tour to Vinnytsya Oblast organized by Swiss Cooperation Office in Ukraine (SCO) took place.
In particular, during the visit to Cherepashyntsi village, Kalynivs’ky rayon Vinnytsya Oblast, journalists had an opportunity to get acquainted with successful practices of local community related to water supple and meeting other needs of local residents under conditions of co-financing and efficient use of funds from the state budget, private sector, financial support of donors and communities own contributions.
During the Tour, press – conference took place in Cherepashyntsi village. Mr. Guido Beltrani, SCO Director in Ukraine, Mr. Vasyl Polischuk, Head of Kalynivs’ky Rayon State Administration, Mr. Andriy Hyzhko, Head of main economic department of Vinnytsys OSA, Mrs. Nataliya Chernysh, Cherepashyntsi village head, Mrs. Oksana garnets, DESPRO Senior Coordinator in Ukraine and 25 representatives of national and 15 representatives of Vinnytsya Oblast mass media took part in it.  
Guido Beltrani informed the journalists on the goal, main activities, objectives and coverage of technical assistance provided by Swiss Confederation in Ukraine. He emphasized on success and uniqueness of DESPRO, which does not have analogues in Ukraine. “DESPRO is a unique and pretty innovative project, because it is capable to mobilize people around a common problem”, - said Mr. Guido Beltrani.
Oksana Garnets made ​​emphasis on project key areas and as well as outcomes of its two phases (2007-2012). "DESPRO main activities are as following: supporting the rural communities’ projects on improving water supply, solid waste management as well as expertise in the sphere of knowledge management and integration of knowledge into the reform process. The main DESPRO focus in the third phase will remain on building effective mechanisms to provide quality public services at the community level and strengthening national dialogue on reform of local self-government and decentralization, "- said Oksana Garnets.
On 16th November, shortly before the press tour, the inauguration of water supply network took place in Cherepashyntsi village. Currently, the village is 100% covered by centralized water supply system. Natalia Chernysh told reporters about the village success story: prerequisites, social mobilization, difficulties and partners’ assistance in addressing them. After Press Conference its participants visited water supply facilities constructed by community members, village medical post and communicated with local inhabitants.
