Pavlivka village community celebrates a new water pipeline: the wells are in the past

Residents of the village of Pavlivka (Pogrebyshchy raion, Vinnytsia oblast) now have a new water pipeline, providing centralized water supply to the whole community. The project implementation became possible thanks to the efforts of the residents and involvement of all interested parties and international partners in co-funding. On July 7, 2015, the formal opening of the water pipeline took place.

In the speech, addressed to the village residents, deputy head of raion state administration, P. Shafransky congratulated them with the significant event in their life, and thanked the representatives of the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization support in Ukraine” DESPRO for methodological, organizational, and financial contribution to implementation of the project.

Village council head, V. Melnyk in his speech reminded how it all started a year ago and stressed that the way to the goal was a long one, but still the goal was achieved. As a result, now the residents of Pavlivka village will be able to improve their domestic and economic conditions, thanks to the water pipeline.

The budget of water pipeline construction project amounted to 1 million and 274 thousand UAH. The “lion’s share” – 725 thousand UAH – was raised by the community. Local budgets allocated 140 thousand UAH, local agricultural enterprises – 105 thousand UAH, DESPRO – 300 thousand UAH. Water pipeline length amounts to 14.5 km, it covers the whole village territory.
