DESPRO project represented Ukraine on a Regional Water Team Days in Chisinau, Moldova

All participating countries are facing the problems of institutional development in water and sanitation service provision. Obviously, new times require new approaches like sector reform and regulation, project models scaling-up and replication. It is extremely important for different countries in current situation to shift in cooperation modalities in the water domain: from projects with strong infrastructure components to projects focusing on governance and institutional development; from implementation through implementation organizations or units to implementation through national systems.
The following topics have been discussed on the workshop:
•    Decentralised systems for water and sanitation services: technologies and management models,
•    Water, sanitation and health, e.g. how to make use of synergies between the water and health domains for improving sanitation
•    Support to the implementation of the Protocol Water and Health
•    Donor coordination and aid harmonization
DESPRO had a chance to present the project experience in Ukraine, its successes, challenges and prospective. In particular: evolution of management models, financing of management, development of local governance via water projects.
The Regional Water Team Days in Chisinau, Moldova was possible due to the Swiss Cooperation Office  Moldova / ApaSan Moldova / DESPRO Ukraine
