After the local elections, communities will face new challenges in the development of infrastructure projects. Municipal bonds in this context are an important tool for financing urban projects. DESPRO is aware of the importance of continuing the dialogue in disseminating this topic among local governments. Therefore, the online conference "Bonds as a tool for financing urban infrastructure projects" was held today in partnership with the Ukrainian Capital Markets Association, the Center for Regional Finance and the Kherson Regional State Administration.


Representatives of city councils, communities and the expert community were involved in the event.
Participants discussed:
▪️ features and advantages of municipal bonds
▪️ conditions for issuing bonds in Ukraine
▪️ procedures for registration and circulation of bonds.


Currently, the initiative group of the event organizers supports the development of separate articles of the draft Law "On Capital Markets and Organized Commodity Markets". The successful functioning of capital markets for municipalities in Ukraine requires consensus and understanding of financial tools by communities, cities' administrations and experts.
